The customer was hand beveling parts. By beveling the part edges during the cutting process using the bevel head on our MetalMaster Xcel Hydefinition Plasma Torch we removed this additional step from the manufacturing process. In addition, the bevel cuts are more accurate and consistent.
Results
Beveling the parts during the cutting process with the bevel head saved 26% in part costs. Plus, it saved an hour per part in production time. By eliminating the hand beveling step in the manufacturing process, it not only resulted in saving the time and costs, but the bevel cuts are more accurate and consistent. Overall, the results are a superior part in less time for a lower cost.
